Lake Oswego, Ore.  – April 23, 2026 — Lightspeed Aviation today announced that CEO Heider Lazzarini, has been awarded Flieger Magazine’s 2026 Industry Leader of the Year, an honor presented during AERO Friedrichshafen on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

Presented by Flieger Magazine, a German-language monthly aviation publication and lauded as an aviation authority in Europe, the award recognizes outstanding leadership and vision within the global aviation industry. Lazzarini was selected for his ability to lead Lightspeed through a pivotal period marked by industry-wide disruption, intense competition, and continued innovation in general aviation.

“I’m deeply honored to receive this recognition from Flieger Magazine,” said Heider Lazzarini, CEO of Lightspeed Aviation. “This award was in reality earned by the incredible team at Lightspeed, supported  by trust built with our founder Allan Schrader, and propelled by our shared commitment to advance aviation safety and pilot experience. “Founder-to-outside-CEO transitions are among the most challenging in business,” said Kris Garberg, Lightspeed Aviation Board of Directors member, during the award presentation. “What makes this moment exceptional is the trust built between founder Allan Schrader and Heider Lazzarini—and the way Heider has earned that trust through steady leadership, clear vision, and an unwavering commitment to the team.”

Lazzarini succeeded Lightspeed founder Allan Schrader, who led the company for nearly three decades and now serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors, during a milestone chapter in the company’s history as it celebrates its 30th anniversary. Under Lazzarini’s leadership, Lightspeed has continued to advance pilot safety and experience, including the successful launch of its latest premium aviation headset, the Zulu 4, despite ongoing economic pressure and global supply chain challenges.
“What truly distinguishes Heider’s leadership is the alignment he has built across the entire organization,” Garberg added. “Strong leadership is never a solo effort, and by all accounts, the Lightspeed team stands firmly behind him.”

The award highlights the combination of leadership continuity, organizational trust, team alignment, and product innovation that has enabled Lightspeed to remain a leader in the general aviation market.
