Lightspeed Aviation Improves the Cockpit Experience in BRP-Rotax-Powered Aircraft

A First-of-its-kind collaboration brings engine tailored cockpit audio to Rotax-powered aircraft through Rotax Care

Lake Oswego, Oregon and Gunskirchen, Austria – July 15, 2026 — Lightspeed Aviation and BRP-Rotax today announced a new Rotax-specific audio and Active Noise Reduction (ANR) profile for the Lightspeed Delta Zulu® headset, designed to bring engine-tailored audio optimization to the cockpit.

Developed by Lightspeed Aviation, the new Rotax-specific audio and ANR profile is tailored to the acoustic characteristics of select Rotax aircraft engine platforms. The result is a more integrated cockpit audio experience designed to support clearer communication and greater cockpit comfort. The Rotax-optimized profile will be available as part of the Rotax Care program for Rotax 912 iS/c, 915 iS/c and 916 iS aircraft engines.

“At BRP-Rotax, we focus on the entire ownership and flight experience, not only the engine itself,” said Marc Becker, Head of Aircraft Business at BRP-Rotax. “This collaboration with Lightspeed Aviation is a smart addition to Rotax Care and brings real value to Rotax-powered pilots using the Lightspeed Delta Zulu – a cockpit audio experience tuned to the sound characteristics of Rotax engines.”

The customized Rotax audio profile is integrated into the Lightspeed Delta Zulu headset settings and counters the engine’s unique sound frequencies and cockpit acoustics to create a quieter environment. Using the companion Lightspeed App for the premium headset, pilots can toggle between the Rotax-optimized mode and Lightspeed’s Signature ANR profile depending on preference and aircraft configuration.

“This is the first time a premium aviation headset provides the option to optimize acoustic performance for an engine platform. The Rotax audio profile, only available through the Lightspeed Delta Zulu, represents a new level of integration between aircraft systems and pilot safety and comfort,” said Lightspeed Aviation CEO Heider Lazzarini. “This partnership demonstrates both companies’ customer-first approach to innovation intended to create a flying experience that is optimized for pilots’ preferences.”

Lightspeed Aviation is setting a new benchmark for what pilots can expect from modern cockpit technology, innovating beyond standalone products toward more integrated cockpit solutions.

This innovative feature is available immediately for purchases made through the Rotax Care program. Lazzarini adds, “The benefit of a digital platform with the Lightspeed Delta Zulu is the ability to deliver more to our current Lightspeed Delta Zulu customers. This new capability will be available to all Lightspeed Delta Zulu owners this fall via a firmware update.”
