Portland, Oregon (September 8, 2017) — Lightspeed Aviation, a leading manufacturer of premium ANR headsets, has announced the details of a contest that will appeal to skilled pilots with an artistic bent: the Wild Blue Doodle. Using the CloudAhoy flight tracking and debriefing platform, aviators can create visual representations of their flight paths to “draw” pictures in the sky. Winners will be chosen through a 2-stage process: a panel of judges will select the top 10 entries based on a combination of artistry and safety and, starting on October 4, the final winners will be selected by public voting. First place wins a Lightspeed Zulu 3 headset, second place a Lightspeed Gann leather flight bag, and third place a Lightspeed Markham leather flight bag. All entries that reach the public voting phase will receive an annual standard subscription to CloudAhoy.
“Each time we partner with CloudAhoy, the results are more creative and more exciting,” said Ed Hansen, Director of Marketing for Lightspeed. “The Wild Blue Doodle will test both piloting skills and the pilot’s creativity. More importantly, it will promote the fun of flying and get pilots in the air.”
Because the CloudAhoy software is used to create the entries and track voting, you must be a CloudAhoy subscriber to enter the contest and to participate in the public voting. However, free subscriptions are available.
About CloudAhoy
CloudAhoy collects GPS data for the entire flight from Apple’s iPad and iPhone, as well as from external devices that can connect to the iPad or iPhone. It then integrates the data with information from a comprehensive suite of aviation resources, uses a rule-based engine to analyze the data, and displays the results in detailed, 2D, 3D, static, and animated screens.
