Last year General Aviation lost 382 lives from fatal aircraft accidents, and they were all preventable. According to Josh Flowers from Aviation 101, they all had two things in common: loss of awareness and loss of control.
So, what’s a solution? As active aviators in the industry, he says we need to change our attitude toward recurrent training in general aviation. He has launched a YouTube series on his Aviation 101 channel about learning from the airlines that regularly run simulator-based training under the Advanced Qualification Program. The series’ goal is to be viewed and shared as much as possible on a volunteer basis among flight schools, CFI’s, clubs, chapters, and individuals. He examines the top reasons for fatal general aviation accidents and discusses how they may be prevented. Watch the teaser here and tell us what you think in the comments!
