How the Lightspeed Trade Up Program Works

    By Lightspeed Aviation | Blog Posts | 3 comments | 20 May, 2020 | 9

For many pilots, a headset becomes a close and dependable friend. It can be very difficult to part with the equipment that we rely on for the communications and auditory protection that keeps us secure during flight. As time moves on however, technological advancements improve our ability to complete safe and comfortable flights.

At Lightspeed, one of our defining characteristics is forward motion. We strive to develop, enhance, and improve our products to meet the evolving needs of modern pilots. But even as we aim for innovation, we embrace the opportunity to honor the “old friends” who accompanied us along the way.

One of the ways we do this is through the Lightspeed Trade Up Program. We provide robust trade value for your aging aviation headset, and we accept a number of different models and brands in our program. We are glad to offer fair value against the purchase of a current Lightspeed headset; depending upon the headset, you can reduce the out-of-pocket cost of a brand-new Zulu or Sierra by 30% or more.

We’re particularly passionate about bringing pilots who have always flown with passive headsets into the world of Active Noise Reduction (ANR). Aviation isn’t an inexpensive passion, and factoring in the price of new equipment can be a daunting experience. Providing this pathway to the future has given innumerable pilots the access they need to obtain the superior auditory protection that ANR provides, not to mention access to the incomparable comfort and durability of the Lightspeed family of headsets.

    Here’s how it works:

    1. You can place an order through our website, using the appropriate trade code for your headset (found on our Trade Up Program page).

    2. Call one of our outstanding support agents, who will facilitate your order over the phone and answer any questions that you may have.

    3. Once you’ve completed payment, box up the headset with your order confirmation and send it our way! When we receive your trade up headset, we’ll process and ship your new Lightspeed headset.

If it’s time to let your “old friend” pave the way to a new Lightspeed headset, please feel free to explore our Trade Up Program page, or reach out to our knowledgeable Customer Support team. We’re looking forward to helping you make a new friend for the journeys ahead.

I have recently upgraded my much loved Zulu 2 to the Zulu 3 headset with the upgrade program.

I thought that this would be a good way to upgrade and give my older headset some new life. Got them 2 weeks ago. I have to say I am blown away – its amazing!!! Did they just give me a new headset ? It feels like it, much, much better ANR.

If you have a Zulu 2 do not buy a new headset just do the upgrade.

I have always had great service from Lightspeed over the last 10 years.

          Safe Flying
