We are back from Oshkosh 2021 and so happy to have been able to attend this year! Because of 2020’s “interruption”, we missed all of our lovely Lightspeed customers and supporters. But meeting fresh faces this year who share in our love and passion of aviation made that wait even more special this year.

Oshkosh by the numbers:

Attendance: Approximately 608,000 attendees. This attendance was within 5 percent of 2019’s total attendees.
Total aircrafts: More than 10,000 aircraft arrived at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh and other airports in east-central Wisconsin.
Total showplanes: 3,176 included: A record 1,420 vintage aircraft registered, plus 1,089 homebuilt aircraft, 354 warbirds, 148 aerobatic aircraft, 112 seaplanes, 33 ultralights, and 27 rotorcraft.
Camping: More than 12,000 sites in aircraft and drive-in camping accounted for an estimated 40,000 visitors.
Volunteers: More than 5,000 contributing in excess of 250,000 hours.
Commercial exhibitors: 747.
Forums, Workshops, and Presentations: A total of 1,055 sessions hosted throughout the week.
International guests: Despite travel restrictions that greatly limited the number of attendees from other nations, EAA still welcomed visitors from 66 countries during the week.
Media: 567 media representatives on-site, from four continents.
Lightspeed at Oshkosh by the numbers:
Lightspeed Employees: We had 10 Lightspeed Employees from various departments at AirVenture 2021 to serve our customers with headset demonstrations – our Wear to Compare campaign.
Lightspeed Meet & Greets: All together we had 5 Meet and Greets with some amazing members of the Aviation community. We started the week off with Josh Flowers, followed by Aaron Fitzgerald, Kevin & Jamie Thornton, Adrian Eichorn & Shinji Maeda, and to end the week off, Laura Humphries.
Video Shoutouts: Lightspeed was featured in 4 amazing videos at Oshkosh! We went Instagram Live with Nick Hoffman and Kyle Fowler and were featured on the YouTube channel Taking Off with Dan Millican & Social Flight withJeff Simon and special guest Bryan Turner from Just Plane Silly.

Orbis Flying Eye Hospital
The Lightspeed team was honored to be invited to have a private tour of the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital at AirVenture. A huge thank you to Sr. Manager Aircraft Maintenance at Orbis International Valerie Suberg who took the time out of an already hectic schedule to enlighten us with this amazing organization and aircraft.
