Lightspeed Aviation sponsored Colin Aro, CFII, CFIG, PhD and formation pilot of Cool Rain Aviation on his journey with approximately 150-200 Bonanza pilots as they travel together to Oshkosh, WI for AirVenture 2019. Watch his exciting 4-day, cross-country formation flight with Formation Flying Inc check pilot Mark Merrill who is also an experienced formation pilot. With spectacular views and amazing formation shots, you’ll feel their sense of camaraderie with safety always top of mind. Their unusual arrival is something you don’t want to miss, either!
Bonanzas to Oshkosh (B2OSH) began in 1990 when Wayne Collins and a few friends decided the only way to ensure camping together was to arrive together in formation. Today, it has grown to an annual event that takes months of planning and practice.
Nicely done. And that weather, our Cherokees, 42 of them did make the mass arrival only because our smaller group requires a smaller window of opportunity and we are just 35 NM away. We arrived at 10 AM. Having done the B2OSH eight times, I know that staging 130+ aircraft is a lot more complicated than our arrival. I do appreciate the tongue-in-check low altitude approach. As good as Lightspeed headsets, they don’t plug into rental cars, but the humor was not lost on me. Good job!
