Vertical Magazine Editor wins HAI’s Excellence in Communications award

February 28, 2019

Portland, Oregon (March 1, 2019) – The Helicopter Association International (HAI) has awarded Oliver Johnson, Editor-in-Chief of Vertical Magazine, the 2019 Excellence in Communications Award sponsored by Lightspeed Aviation. One of the “Salute to Excellence” awards to be presented during a luncheon at HAI Heli Expo next week, the Lightspeed Aviation Excellence in Communications award recognizes the individual or organization who achieves the most creative and distinct dissemination of information about the helicopter industry.

In his role, Johnson guides Vertical Magazine’s editorial contributors (a team of industry experts who are not necessarily professional writers) in the creation of factually accurate and compelling stories for his readers. His tireless efforts ensure that the contributor’s expertise and passion reliably shine through in clear, well-crafted prose.

Johnson also contributes outstanding feature stories about industry trends, the latest innovations and breaking news for the magazine’s print version and Vertical’s website. His writing style is informative, engaging, clear and concise for any reader to comprehend regardless of industry familiarity.

“We wish Oliver a hearty congratulation for this well-deserved honor,” said Teresa De Mers, Executive Vice President of Lightspeed Aviation. “Lightspeed is privileged to be a sponsor of the HAI Salute to Excellence awards and its mission to celebrate the highest standards of professionalism in helicopter aviation.”
